Myth vs. Reality
Myth #1:
I have an old car so I don't have to worry about my car being stolen. Truth: Auto thieves don't discriminate between new and old cars. If you own a car in high demand due to valuable resell auto parts in the black market, has a weak security system or no security system at all, your vehicle is at risk. Myth #2: My insurance will replace my car and all items that were in my car. Truth: Most insurance policies will only reimburse you at the depreciated blue book value of your car. If you put an expensive paint job on your car, state-of-the-art sound system, etc., these expenses will not be taken into account by insurance adjusters unless you've purchased a premium policy. Items such as laptops, work tools, etc... are not covered by car insurance policies. |
Myth vs. Reality
Myth #3: The police will recover my vehicle. Truth: While law officials work diligently to recover stolen vehicles, the national average for auto theft recovery is 46 percent. From insurance schemes to utilizing the latest technological advances, auto thieves never sleep making automobile owners the 1st line of defense when it comes to protecting your asset. Myth #4: Auto security systems aren't a good investment and don't prevent theft. Truth: Auto thieves target vehicles that are easy to steal. They don't want to get caught. They want to profit the quickest and easiest way possible. And, an unsecured or poorly secured vehicle is the easiest target. |
